After signing the solar proposal, your journey with ESD Solar begins. Expect constant contact with a project coordinator, your representative within the company. They’ll keep you updated, ensuring a smooth process without surprises.

1. Assessment:

Once the dotted lines are signed, ESD Solar conducts a comprehensive site assessment. A representative evaluates your home, taking necessary measurements and photos of the roof, electrical panels, and subpanels. The surveyor may also inspect the attic to aid in planning.

2. Engineering Review:

ESD Solar’s engineering team compares the digital design to the site assessment, ensuring no extra work is needed. If your home falls in the 5% requiring additional electrical work, you can choose ESD Solar (with a credit) or another company. Your project coordinator presents the final plan before proceeding.

3. Permit:

Post-design, the permit phase begins. ESD Solar applies for building permits in your jurisdiction and, if needed, submits a preliminary Net Energy Metering request to your utility. The timing of permit issuance varies but your project coordinator guides you through this unpredictable phase.

4. Install:

The exciting phase kicks in after permit approval. You’re contacted to arrange a 1-2 day installation. Expect a 2-hour power loss during general installation, extending to 4-6 hours for solar battery installation with a sunVault (r) system.

5. Inspection:

Following installation, local authorities inspect your project. Your project coordinator notifies you of the inspection date and time. Typically a quick process, the city provides exact timing on the inspection day.

6. Commission:

Post-inspection, ESD Solar requests “permission for operation” from your utility. This step varies in duration based on the utility’s procedures. Your system activates within 48 hours upon utility approval, and voila – your home runs on solar energy!

The Excitement Unfolds:

Transitioning to solar power is an exciting process. Installation duration ranges from 30 days to 6 months, dependent on local utility processes and permits. ESD Solar supports you at every step, guiding you through paperwork. You only need to be available at specific times for the site visits.
